A big change that I’ve noticed with my skin, particularly now that I am well into my 40’s, is how it responds to oils.
When I was younger, the though of adding more oils to my already plentiful dry/oily combination skin was laughable, but now, using oils feels really great on my skin.
MOFO Australia
And today, I’m excited to share with you a funky new range of skincare from Australian makeup designer Nikki Gooley. And that is MOFO.
The MOFO line is made up of simple, sleek black packaging and a message as clear as the oils Nikki has created in the range.
A Skincare Line Made Out of Necessity
MOFO is all based on Australian botanical ingredients and was born out of necessity.
During a project where Nikki’s actor was required to wear heavy prosthetic makeup for his role. She discovered that each night when she would remove his makeup, his skin would flare up and react to the tension required to remove the strong glues and release the prosthetics from his skin.
So Nikki dabbled with some ingredients, and her Clean As Cleansing Oil was born.
So serving as a prototype while she was on the job, she managed to look after her actor’s skin. And the secret was, the combination of Australian botanicals and, no doubt, her years of expertise.
Have You Seen A Shift in Your Skin in Your 40s?
Now for me, at the tender age of something over 45, I’ve noticed a radical shift in my skin, particularly this year. And truth be told, in the years since 2020 actually.
I suspect that my skin has changed partly because of wearing a mask on my face for up to 16 hours a day at work. I think this because I’ve developed this section of acne that is the basic shape of a Covid mask on my face. I basically have a circle of acne that follows the outline of the shape of the mask on my face.
It only seems to have appeared now that our work mask requirements have eased off basically in the last year or so. So while I’m sure that my age is somewhat the culprit, I truly do suspect that it is somehow tied to the mask-wearing in my case anyway.
.
MOFO Was My Solution
When I began using MOFO each day, the acne pretty much disappeared.
To partner with Clean As, I would follow with MOFO Misty Hydro Spray.
The Misty Hydro Spray is a healing and hydrating spray. It smells like rainwater in a bottle. And that’s what it feels like when you spray it on your face. It’s super fresh and honestly, like no other spray mist I’ve used.
Finally, I finish with MOFO’s signature product, the Mother Oil.
I can pop a couple of drops into my hands and just press it onto my face any time of the day or night. And my skin just drinks it in and feels smoother, plumper, and calmer.
So I just wanted to give Nikki a shout out and I wanted to wish her all the success in the world with MOFO.
I love everything about the brand and the range, and I hope that you do too.

A big change that I’ve noticed with my skin, particularly now that I am well into my 40’s, shh, don’t tell anybody – is how it responds to oils. When I was younger, the thought of adding any oils, more oils to my dry/oily combination face seemed like the stuff of nightmares. Seriously, it was like a bad eighties horror movie about a killer oil slick or something.
But now, as the decades have passed, using oils feels really great on my skin.
And today, I’m excited to share with you a funky new range of skincare from Australian makeup designer Nikki Gooley. And that is MOFO. Cool name, right? Wait till you use the products with simple, sleek black packaging and a message as clear as the oils she presents.
MOFO is all based on Australian botanical ingredients and was born out of necessity. Nikki was on a project when her actor was required to wear heavy prosthetic makeup for his role, and each night when she would remove his makeup, his skin would flare up and react to the tension required to remove the strong glues and release the prosthetics from his skin.
So Nikki dabbled with some ingredients, and her Clean As cleansing oil was born.
So serving as a prototype while she was on the job, she managed to look after her active skin. And the secret was, in fact the combination of Australian botanicals and, no doubt, her years of expertise.
Now for me, at the tender age of something over 45, I’ve noticed a radical shift in my skin, particularly this year. And truth be told, in the years since 2020 actually.
While part of my theory as to why my skin has changed so much boils down to wearing a mask on my face for up to 16 hours a day at work, because I’ve developed this section of acne that funnily enough, is the basic shape of a Covid mask on my face. So around my nose and mouth, which I managed to keep at bay during 2020.
It only seems to have appeared now that our work mask requirements have eased off basically in the last year or so. So while I’m sure that my age is somewhat the culprit, I truly do suspect that it is somehow tied to the mask-wearing in my case anyway.
And all I know is that when I began using MOFO each day, the acne pretty much disappeared.
To partner with Clean As, I would follow with MOFO Misty Hydro Spray, which is a healing and hydrating spray. I like to call it pure rainwater in a bottle, because for me, that’s what it smells like, and that’s what it feels like when you spray it on your face. It just smells like the rain. It’s super fresh and honestly like no other spray mist on the market.
And then I finish with MOFO’s signature products, the Mother Oil, which I’ve gotta tell you, I’m wearing it right now, and I can pop a couple of drops into my hands and just press it onto my face anytime of the day or night. And my skin just drinks it in and feels smoother, plumper, and calmer.
So I just wanted to give Nikki a shout out and I wanted to wish her all the success in the world with MOFO.
I love everything about the brand and the range, and I hope that you do too. So check out the show notes for MOFO.
I’ll link to the website and Nikki’s Instagram page for mofo. And if you want some mofo right now, the best way to do it at this point in time is just to send Nikki a DMM on the mofo page,
and I’m sure she’ll get back to you. It’s such a lovely brand and I wish her every success with it. And you heard it first here, by the way. Alright, I’ll see you next time.
